Looking at Oulton's Business school for paralegal/ legal assistant – cost about $9000 with books and tuition; the alternetive is applying at Capilano College online for 14 courses at $104 per course. Oulton's provides on the job training at the end of the school year – big plus. Are either of these schools more recognisable for the hiring process in a law firm. What credentials do law firms need to be hired as a paralegal?

Absolutely not. You need to find a school and should find a school that is ABA approved. If it is not keep on walking. Law firms normally require at minimum 1 year of paralegal experience.

I'm want to go for a degree in Business Finance, but my budget is very tight with two sons. I want to go to a good online school, but also affordable.

ITT Tech and Colorado Tech have great programs!
My advice (from experience) is…..do your research!

With these online programs, you have to make sure you talk to someone directly and also make sure they send you proper course information and really read through it, ask the right questions.

It can be a pain to do all that research for each school but it is really worth it. I got info from several schools from education advancement and someone called me up soon to chat about it.
It's a good time now to start and you may get a deal on summer classes.

I plan on starting college in 2009 to get a degree in business. I’m thinking about attending University of Phoenix online. Is this a good online school? I’m still deciding between University of Phoenix online and Liberty University online. Which school is better University of Phoenix or Liberty University?

There are tons of online programs. I personally attended American Intercontinental Univ. and Capella University, and have taught for various online schools including the University of Phoenix. All are accredited and solid programs. Online courses tend to vary in price, so we could say they are more expensive, but that is relative. Of course they are more expensive than a community college, but less expensive than Harvard. The price range varies.

The key is to find a program that is fully accredited. Is it worth it? YES. My career has boomed since my MBA at nearly 5 years ago. I am close to finishing my PhD through distance education, and I am at the job that I want. I know I wouldn’t be here without the education. If you are looking at work in the U.S., then you need a school that is accredited and recognized by the Dept of Ed. I can give more info on that later. Always check accreditation at the accrediting body and not the school’s site.

You should market yourself and not the degree or university. There are many traditional universities offering degrees that can be earned through online methods. Distance Learning Alliance has a list of these traditional online schools. Look at that if you are truly concerned with the name of the school. Good luck on your search!

there is not firniture business degree, no one would specialize in something as specific as furniture. get just a normal business degree

try university of pheonix ( no it is not just in pheonix, they are all over) but beware of fake places that will send you a degree for money without doing anything, they are fake

An MBA would be a good start but do your research. Some programs are aweful and you do not always get what you pay for.
