This is mostly an opinion question, but I am curious to what school's most people think of when they think of engineering. If possible rank them according to their Chemical Engineering programs.
Thank you for informing me of Google… I am well aware of my opinion on the top schools, however, I would like to see comments from other people.
There are the great schools which always show up in the top rank – Stanford, MIT, Berkeley etc – but there are also "boutique" Engineering/Science schools with small enrollments but very high standards. Among these are California Institute of Technology, Rose-Hulman, Cooper Union, Harvey Mudd, and several others. A new school – Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering – is attracting a lot of attention.
What are the top engineering schools in the United States?

Posted by admin | Under accredited mba programs Tuesday Jan 13, 2009I'm thinking about working on an MBA online. Which universities have the cheapest tuition? I'm guessing the average is around $22,000.
Does anyone have any experience getting their degree from an international university? I've heard those are a lot cheaper, but I'm not sure whether they are accredited in the US.
Take a look at justcolleges.com, they have a lot of good information on online mba colleges. You can even request for information from several different colleges for free and this will probably give you an idea.
Some of the top colleges are Capella, Strayer and University of Phoenix.

Is a Business degree (MBA) essential to work in Corporate Business if I have a Law Degree?
Posted by admin | Under undergraduate business degree Tuesday Jan 13, 2009Let me be specific: I am a law student (business law) with an undergraduate double major in Sociology-Organizational Studies and Psychology (with a double minor in History and English). Since I would like to keep the option open to becoming a business man at later age, I was thinking of applying for a dual degree (JD/MBA). I hear, however, that once you have a background in business law, the MBA becomes unnecessary, for you already have the critical thinking skills and can pick up the skills on the job. The marketability of having 2 degrees is unimportant for me if I can save myself the time and money of going to school for an extra year.
It depends on the portfolio of your job.
1. If you are taking up a job in corporate which is only associated with law, then all you need to know is company laws. Your Law degree must be fine in that case.
2. If you are going for an executive post, or if you feel like switching over to management executive post later, then you would be required to have an MBA.
3. If you are going to start your own business, you need to be even a grduate, leave alone having an MBA!
But yes, having an MBA is an added qualification for 1 & 3 above, and essential for 2.
Given your splendid varying academic background, I would suggest you to do MBA. You could have an edge over managers who know only management, and lawyers who know only law.
Best online college that takes past college/work experience into account?
Posted by admin | Under online business college Tuesday Jan 13, 2009I know of a few colleagues that are taking post graduate courses with Phoenix University. Apparently PU has a decent reputation.
My situation is a bit different….25 years in IT with progressive successes to executive level. I have two years at a community college (1980). I was told several years ago that the courses were too old (BAL programming etc) to transfer credits.
So, if I was to restart my education where would you recommend I look? I'd like to get as much "credit" for my IT/business experience and past college courses.
Thanks!
I currently attend Touro University International. I am in the military and have limited time to go to school so I've been taking classes online at this university. I don't know if they would transfer classes that are so old but they do evaluate experience to a degree. I don't have as much experience as you do but I did have some credits transferred for my degree. Hope this helps.
What kind of a career can I get if I have a degree in international business?
Posted by admin | Under international business degrees Tuesday Jan 13, 2009I'm currently working towards my BS in Business Administration at the University of Southern California. We are required to major in another topic within the business school like marketing, communication, etc. I was planning on international business because it seems cool that you can work on a business level with people from other cultures and countries. I was wondering exactly what kind of a job I could get if I chose to emphasize my business studies in international business.
I imagine it would be helpful if you look for a job with any business who works on an international level. It might also help if you were looking to go work for a company in another country. Pretty much anything that operates on an international level, across countries, is going to have some sort of business aspect, and an international business degree would look good for those sorts of positions.
Can anyone recommend some accredited universitys that offer online degree programs in IT?

In my opinion to approach online colleges the same way you would approach any school decision and look at a number of schools to determine the right fit for you. I would do a search for accredited online information technology degree programs and contact a bunch of the schools you find to see which is the best fit for you. Here is the first site that popped up for me:
